WHAT IS DROM?
DROM is a unique combination of drumming (the DRUM) and meditation (the OM) to energize, relieve stress, bring clarity and calm – all while having fun drumming on an exercise ball or on tables and chairs.
DROM is fun and easy. It is an adaptable movement drumming and meditation practice designed to energize, relieve stress and foster confidence for people of all ages. It is ideal for either a business-related or social event. As a stand-alone workshop or part of a larger keynote message, the DROM Practice will quickly engage, motivate and inspire participants.
It brings energy and calm together. DROM decreases stress, increases resiliency and personal power and brings you into the present moment. It is fun, inclusive, non-judgemental, and non-competitive. We might be moving a little or lots but it doesn’t even feel like exercise! There is no wrong way to participate and anyone, regardless of age or ability, can do DROM.
The DROM Practice is designed to provide physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits that contribute to the overall wellbeing of participants, and combat the body and brain challenges encountered in everyday modern life.
Physical Using drumsticks and a fitness ball or drumming on tables and chairs, participants move to the beat of energizing music. The benefits of this are well documented for its therapeutic ability to reduce fatigue, hostility, depression and other burnout symptoms, while leaving people energized and relaxed.
Mental: Drumming can make you smarter. It is a healthy workout for the brain. When you’re engaged in drumming, you access your entire brain, both the left and right hemisphere. This practice incorporates specifically designed binaural beats to help reduce anxiety and stress and promote positive feelings all while helping to improve focus and concentration.
Emotional: DROM is a breakthrough mind and body experience created to clear the cobwebs and bust through barriers to your hidden power. Participating in a shared experience, such as through drumming, can also help people connect on a deeper level through a shared, powerful experience.
Spiritual When you’re engaged in drumming, it is hard to be anything but in the present. This helps participants to feel grounded, centered and inspired.
